The Reverend Doctor Paul Shore, Honorary Assistant at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Brandon died on February 27, 2023 after a short illness. Ordained as Deacon on June 24, 2017 and as Priest on October 16, 2021, Fr. Paul was beloved by not only members of St. Matthew’s Cathedral, but also throughout the diocese, and further afield. He was well known for his vast knowledge of Scripture and languages, and was a prolific author. He taught courses at the post-secondary level, including courses in the Licentiate in Theology program at Huron University College at the University of Western Ontario. His courses “The World of the New Testament” (offered in 2021), and “Words of Faith: Scriptural Concepts in the Old and New Testaments” (offered in 2022) were well received by students both in the Diocese of Brandon, as well as from throughout the Anglican Church of Canada. His funeral took place on Tuesday, March 7th, and he was laid to rest in the columbarium at St. Matthew’s Cathedral.
Rest eternal grant unto Paul, O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon him.
May his soul, along with all the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
